The active involvement of young people is a cornerstone of the National Youth Strategy and the EU Youth Strategy. The enhancement of young people’s participation in matters related to their personal, social and professional lives, is an essential goal of both the EU and its member-states, which seek to give young people the opportunity to speak for themselves. The Youth Board of Cyprus has established various participatory tools and institutions to ensure the active participation of young people, such as the Municipal/Community Youth Councils, youth consultations, the EU Youth Dialogue, the Youth Conference and the online platform OPIN for online consultations.
